Computex 2025 – FREE Bionics Showcases AI-driven Exoskeleton

Cheng-Hua Wu, CEO of FREE Bionics Taiwan, speaks with Maurizio Di Paolo Emilio, Editor-in-Chief of Power Electronics News and embedded.com, during the recent COMPUTEX 2025 event in Taipei, about their AI-driven exoskeleton.

According to Wu, their system uses sensor-less control to recognize the motion, movement, and the muscle power of the user, thereby removing the inconvenience and discomfort of some of the current solutions in the market.

Wu got the idea for their solution when his grandmother, who was more than 90 years old at the time, fell and could no longer stand up and walk. “Using this technology for people with some kind of weakness, to help them learn to stand up, again would be very helpful for them and their family,” says Wu.
