Expanding Horizons: 10 Startups Begin TREE Landing Program at Stanford and Berkeley
November 15, 2024 – Ten cutting-edge Taiwan startups are making waves in the U.S., supported by the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Five of the startups are participating in a three-month program at Stanford University’s School of Engineering, while the other five have joined the prestigious Berkeley SkyDeck accelerator. These initiatives aim to bridge Taiwanese innovation with Silicon Valley’s dynamic ecosystem, fostering global connections and opportunities.
The startups will further showcase their groundbreaking technologies at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Taiwan Demo Day, positioning themselves for partnerships and investment opportunities.
Five Startups at Stanford University
- Jmem Tek – Comprehensive security chip with quantum-safe capabilities for enhanced cybersecurity.
- TSGC – AI-powered, zero-waste solar panel recycling machine promoting sustainable energy solutions.
- DOTSpace – Digital capsule for continuous intra-abdominal pressure monitoring, advancing medical diagnostics.
- InnoCell – Biomimetic multi-protrusion magnetic beads for cutting-edge biotechnology applications.
- VasoCollar – Medical anastomosis kits designed to improve vascular connections in healthcare.
Five Startups at Berkeley SkyDeck
- Tensor Tech – ADCS solutions with TensorADCS-10m, an advanced satellite attitude determination and control system.
- Bamboo – AI-powered virtual therapist offering real-time emotional support and mental health insights through voice analysis.
- EndoSemio – Miniaturized camera modules in biocompatible tubing for real-time surgical imaging in upper airway and urinary tract devices.
- Pade Tech – AI-powered Smart Sorting Bin for efficient recycling, reduced emissions, and accelerated PET recycling processes.
- TQMC – Cryogenic ICs and modules capable of operating at 4K (-269°C) to drive and read-out superconducting qubits.
Supported by the MOEA, these ten startups are not only driving Taiwan’s entrepreneurial and technological advancements but are also establishing Taiwan as a significant contributor to the global innovation landscape.
